Tywin is the best character idk about the best villain. I would say Ramsay is the best villain, just pure evil and insanity. Tywin is too calculated and methodical to even be considered a villain even though he causes the Red Wedding lol. I might be biased because he’s my favorite character and the Lannisters are my favorite house but Tywin simply cares too much about the Lannister dynasty and is willing to compromise with others and not simply cause harm for harms sake. Like when he and Olenna go back and forth and agree to the marriages of their children. Tywin is just Olenna but for the Lannisters. Not necessarily good or evil just defending their house and looking out for what’s best for their families legacy. I could even argue Cersei isn’t much of a villain either. Dani is arguably much more of a villain than her and im surprised Dani isn’t even mentioned. I would put Dani as a bigger villain than Cersei.

Giving Rhaenys a reason to get out of the Dragon Pit fast would have been good for ambiguity. If Vhagar was right behind Meleys, then Rhaenys knows she's going to die if she kills Aemond. Having her run for her life instead would have been more interesting. They could have upheld her as the supposed moral center if she was the one to later chastise herself for not making the sacrifice to end it all there.

Aang and Azula are major letdowns, not just from acting perspective but from character designs as well. Azula seemingly just whines that she is not being the top choice, while in the original series, she is assured, deliberate, cunning, menacing and has aura (a shoutout to the voice actress too). Aang is now basically a whiny kid only, who does not have fun (so odd) and constantly lives in the past. He did not have a ONE moment where he bends water, i'm sorry... what?! Katara is being portrayed as a lowkey prodigy who can waterbend almost instantly, which removes all her character flaws and diminishes her journey as a character and skilled waterbender she turns out to be. Sokka is already mature. And the saddest part is that the characters don't get to spend time with each other, which means there is NO bonding whatsoever. The only bonding I find is between Iroh and Zuko which is always welcome. Also, avatars seem like whiny, angry adults who are just yelling at a much younger reincarnations of themselves. Roku not warning Aang about Sozin's Comet is mind-blowing.

Zuko and Iroh are the best parts of the new show, and having the 41st Core arc adds a lot to Zuko's character. Plus that Iroh and Zuko backstory when Lu Ten dies and Iroh sort of volunteering Zuko on his is so much amazing and heartwarming

He's supposed to be really smart, but marries Sansa to Ramsey without investigating him. I mean, really!? Like it was hard to learn he flays people and what he did to Theon. And afterwards he stays in Winterfell, hoping she will forget and forgive this! He was butchered as a villain for me. And by letting him live past them retaking Winterfell, Sansa and Jon were idiots too. And Viserys is too high up on the list too. He was entitled, but also desperate at the time-if this doesn't work, what will? I feel like he deserves a place far back. I mean, Euron was terrible, but at least he accomplished something.

I didn’t hold out much hope for ANY prequel or sequel series’ (based on how GOT ended)…until I saw the first HOTD trailer. Also, of course, D&D aren’t involved AT ALL and GRRM is much MORE involved. Ended up LOVING season 1 of HOTD and STOKED for season 2!

I would like to see his humanity played up more, not in making him less evil, but in doing more with his insecurities and his desire for Sansa and Catelyn before that. His downfall should be wrapped up in that. Sansa turning on him has to be a big part of it somehow as it would then be his romanticism which ultimately becomes his downfall. Alternatively he could die on the throne due to some magical shit associated with the long night. As a sort of bloodstone emperor figure who weakened the realm to seize power when it needed to be strong, and payed the price for it. He'd win the Game of Thrones but then finally that would be shown to be a distraction as the white walkers dispatch of him, setting up the real battle.
